This page summarizes the PRL reporting process, what report submitters need to do and what they can expect to happen.  The reporting process has three phases:

  • Report Creation
  • Report Submission
  • Report Processing

During report creation the businesses and applicators determine the type of report appropriate to their business, decide how to collect the data required for that report type and create a pesticide report in a format that meets the requirements set by the PRL Service Bureau.  Decisions about the report type and how to collect the data should be made prior to the start of the report year, so that the data will be available to include in the final report at the end of the year.

During report submission the business or applicator chooses which submission method to use.  They assemble the report files for the business into a single submission.  They enter or verify the contact information to be submitted with the report and they submit their pesticide report.

Report processing for all electronic reports is done at the PRL Service Bureau.  The service bureau will send you an email when your report has been received and another one if your report passes validation.  We will also send you an email if your report requires correction.  The applicators and/or sales business(es) will not be credited with filing until your report has passed validation.

Report Creation

The data required to be filed on your PRL report must conform to the layouts of the four forms that have been developed for the PRL program.  Pesticide applicators and businesses will use form 26 and 26A, while pesticide sales businesses will use one or all of these forms: 25, 26A and 27.  For more information see Decide Which Forms to Use.
